Martavis Bryant Suspended: Thursday Night Fallout

News broke today that Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Martavis Bryant could be missing time early in the season.
This will only affect Thursday games as the Steelers meet the New England Patriots in the Suspension Bowl in Week 1.  There are currently no contests that include that game at FanDuel, so pricing is likely going to be adjusted to reflect Bryant's absence. Look for Markus Wheaton—who has been garnering praise all offseason—to get a major bump.

We were already going to see a sky high cost for receiver Antonio Brown, but he might be one of the best cash plays of the week regardless. He's liable to get 15-plus targets with Bryant and running back Le'Veon Bell out of the lineup. Heath Miller might be a nice GPP option, too, if his price is low enough.

Where the suspensions help pass-catchers that are actually playing, they hurt quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. Combined with an injury to star center Maurkice Pouncey, Big Ben's early-season fantasy projections are taking a tumble.

  1. It’s definitely going to be an interesting start to the season without Martavis Bryant, especially with the impact on both the Steelers' offense and the fantasy football landscape. The increased opportunities for players like Antonio Brown and Markus Wheaton could lead to great performances.
